Hi. My boys and I would like to trek out to Sand Lake. We have made two unsuccessful attempts in the past because dad couldn't make it along the high falls route. coming via Cage Lake looks like it shortens the walk -- how is the trail? It looks flat -- is it too wet/middy to enjoy? Are there any benefits/pitfalls to this route? Thanks.
