OK.....yet another trip to Lake Desolation. Skiing was excellent this morning with 4 or 5 inches of new snow. There is still a good base on everything except for the south facing slopes and coverage on the snowmobile trails was thin. It was a very quiet trip today, no snowmobiles and little traffic on the road. I thought that last weekend would be the end of the season, but the cool temperatures that we had for most of the week and the snow last night made for some very good skiing. It was cold with light flurries when I left around noon. Should be pretty wintry for the next couple of days.
