We recently hiked at some of the lands that comprise the Nature Conservancy's Long Pond Preserve in the Poconos.* Cathy's Trail was an easy two mile trail that explored wetlands, boulder field, spruce forests, and a meadow.* It was a scenic trail.* Lots of cool mushrooms.* We then went to the nearby Long Pond Barrens to see the pitch pine forests and stunted forests of oak.* It was a different kind of place to hike in the mist.* Would be cool to see in the fall or after a snowfall.*
