Bear Den Mt. Near Whiteface 6/28

It was supposed to rain buckets and did later so I left home at 5:30.Parked in the Bear Den lot at Whiteface ski ctr which is the highest lot on the road to the R of the Main Lodge.The TH kiosk has a map and mileage stated at 1.2 which seemed a little shy. Walked the Upper trail for 10 minutes or so and where the bike trail turns hard R by the stream a trail with yellow markers and a No Bike sign heads L.The trail is nice and soft and mostly dirt like the new Iron Mt trail.Near the top you come to an intersection with a Bear Den arrow pointing L which quickly comes out on the rocky summit which is flat and good size.Back to the intersection and hang a L on a good trail with occasional carins that leads to the N summit in about 10 minutes.The N is much nicer but that's just my opinion(see photos).Both summits have very up close and personal views of Whiteface.It poured on the way home. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theaterhttps://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater
