Spectacle Lake and Goodluck Cliffs - 1/2/20

We hiked into Spectacle Lake and Goodluck Cliffs a couple of days after the ice storm. Trail conditions were a mixture of snow and ice with many open water spots in the trail. We used snowshoes and micro spikes. There were some trees and branches blocking the trail in places, but overall conditions were not too bad.

It was an absolutely beautiful day in the woods with the blue sky and the ice/snow on the trees. I really enjoy the trail between Goodluck and Spectacle Lakes, it is quite narrow and the woods are nice with interesting topography. We did not venture very far out on the ice on either of the lakes.

Things got a little wet as the ice melted off of the trees in the bright sun. A couple of photos from the trip are below. We saw lots of power company trucks and tree trimming on our drive home.
