New member here, and I'm hoping this community can assist in locating the area related to the following image. The legendary magician and escape artist, Harry Houdini, filmed scenes for one of his movies The Man From Beyond in and around the Lake Placid area. The picture below is from the climatic ending where he "swims in the rapids of the Niagara River."
I'm from the Niagara area and the picture does not resemble the geology or geography of the Niagara region. With Lake Placid being listed as a filming location for The Man From Beyond, does this river, gorge/rock formation and bridge look familiar to anyone?
The film was shot in 1921 so I'm sure a lot has changed over the years as Mother Nature can be brutal. But I'm hoping to track down this location to prove Houdini never swam in the rapids of the mighty Niagara. Thanks!
