Went to the Saranac on Monday & Tuesday this week to see if I could find some salmon/steel or browns in the river. The only thing I caught were cold feet and hands. Water temperature was a balmy 34 degrees. Few salmon in the river at present I think, though there were reports that some folks near the mouth had a little action. The river was at a good fishable level though and I saw no other fishermen in the areas that I fished. It was good to get out and exercise my arms a bit. For some reason I need to take one of these trips every spring to remind myself that real fishing is still several weeks away.
