Andrew Friedman said Wednesday that his front office remains focused on bolstering a starting rotation that has lost Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brandon McCarthy to season-ending operations.


Adding an offensive reinforcement is "a lower priority," Friedman said.

1914: Miracle:
Two years later, The Braves were successful in setting up one of the most memorable seasons in baseball history. The Braves were on pace for a last place finish after a dismal 4-18 start. However, Mathewson died in 1925, leaving Fuchs in control of the team.Fuchs was committed to building a winner but It took awhile to overcome the damage from the years prior to his arrival. Under manager Bill McKechnie, the Braves finally managed to compete 1933 and 1934.

Fuch was facing financial crisis at that time due to the Great Depression. Fuchs worked out a deal with the New York Yankees as he was looking for a way to get more fans and more money. He was successful in acquiring Babe Ruth, who had ironically started his career with the Red Sox. Ruth was mad made vice president of the team with a share of the Braves' profits by Fuchs.

1990s: Successes and Stars
In the middle of the 1990 season, Cox returned to the dugout as manager. He replaced Russ Nixon. The year was finished with the worst record in baseball by the Braves.
