Had ten minutes on Haystack in Ray Brook on August 23 before the 20% chance of rain let loose. Unfortunately I had spread out clothes, camera, food and binoculars just before it started. In my scramble to gather it all up before I got soaked I left a pair of compact Nikon binoculars.
I wanted my wife to enjoy the view as well so we returned the next morning but they were already gone. A group of about 20 youngsters were coming down and pretty spread out so I had to ask about 15 times if anyone had found them. No luck. When we got to the top the 10% chance of rain started.
