Seeing the eclipse in the woods.

Someone told me that you can see the partial eclipse under the trees. Sure enough that happened to me yesterday. The partially eclipsed sun was being projected on the ground by spruce trees in my yard. There were little crescents speckled all over my driveway and it was slightly dimmer out. It's was really cool. You know how they say put a pin hole into a piece of cardboard and project the sun on to a piece of paper. The trees do the same thing. The small spacing between the leaves act as pin holes. There are two annular eclipses coming near enough to affect us in a few years. It would be interesting to take a walk in the woods and see that again. Then the big one comes on April 8th 2024.
