Last month I hiked to Kettle Creek Gorge and Angel Falls in the Loyalsock State Forest.* Angel Falls is about 70 feet tall, and has two or three more falls below it.* Towering tulip poplar trees rose through the forest.* I then hiked the Loyalsock Trail into Kettle Creek Gorge with its rugged isolation, vista, pools, creekside hiking, and great campsites.* I heard a rattlesnake at the vista, and later, saw a hummingbird as shadows filled the gorge.* There is another falls further upstream on Kettle Creek that I've never seen, and didn't see on this trip, but it gives me a reason to go back. *
