Reading here that many of the most well known hikers are seeing snow levels they haven't seen before or at least for a long time. That leads me to my question which is, what has been the latest into spring that people remember having needed snowshoes in the high peaks? Thinking of backpacking into Colden Lake or to Wolfjaw leanto and climbing Bennies Slide, or hiking the long route from Elizabethtown to get to RPR the first couple of days in June. Will have two dogs with me. Colden Lake is sitting on 55" right now.
