French Louie Loop First Week of May?

Hi Everyone,



I'm brand new here. I've hiked a few of the high peaks, but this year I want to take my dog with me, so I'm planning an easier route.



I've decided to hike the French Louie Loop in the West Canada Lakes region, but I need some help.



I would like to hike this loop in the first week of May.



Does anyone know if I will have trouble accessing the Pillsbury Trail Head via Military Rd./Jessup River Rd. during this time?



How bad is the mud going to be in this area at that time?



Are there any stream crossings that could be dicey with runoff?



What are my chances of avoiding the black flies then?
