I had the pleasure to join hickoryskier and Brawnyman and Mitistripper for a fun day at Hickory yesterday.
It's been a while since I last skied there, maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I forget how much fun and challenge there is on those 1,200 vertical feet.
They were 100% open, with good cover and excellent conditions...we skied everything they had and lots of stuff that isn't on any map!! All of it rivals anything at Mad, Jay or Smugs.
Oh, did I mention that there is no snowmaking, and no grooming on the upper mountain??!!
If anyone is looking for a real skiers mountain, give Hickory a try. Be sure your skills are sharp, and you'll have a great time.
We saw 30 skiers at most, full day is $45 and half day for $30.
