Shortly after that it was thought that the state of NY might acquire the property and add it to the forest preserve:

Does anyone know of any update on the status of this area? I was hoping that by now, four years later, one might be able to enter the property at the carry and launch a canoe or kayak.
Is the only access to the Eckford chain (other than from Raquette L. or from the public beach on Blue Mtn L.) STILL from the shoulder of Route 28 onto Utowana Lake?
Has anyone heard anything about the status of the Carry property and land access to it?
