If there is still a considerable amount of snow on the top of the high peaks in mid May, would there be a good chance there would still be those kinds of levels/conditions on RPR? I want to hike in/back from Rt 9, but I will have my dog with me and ice on ridge edges would probably force us to turn around for safety reasons for my dog. I am aware of the ice on the trail over to Giant, but we wouldn't be going past RPR before returning to our car.
