Blue ridge parkway equivalent

Would the region benefit From a blue ridge parkway type road? If so, what and where would it go? Personally, something from the Ausable Club up the great range terminating at the peak of Marcy would make for a very cool white knuckle drive.

Now I'm not advocating for this. The park is great as is and something like tgis would destroy the rustic nature of the region and the solitude. This is purely a hypothetical.
