Just to show I'm not all hat and no cattle I thought it time to put up a report. :Peek:
These aren't the piscatorial faired haired boy (Brookie) But the low slung, crafty immigrant trout. But as they say first in show doesn't always equate to first in the field:)
I like fishing dry flies but watching the first couple trout come up and either bump or gnaw on my fly like an old man with his dentures out I came to scientific conclusion maybe the water is too cold for a dry (not so as we will see later). So off with the "Secret Weapon" on went a fly I tie that I call the Golden Prince and a strike indicator
After that I went all Attila the Hun on them. I had 6 Golden Prince's, one was lost to the bottom and the others were torn apart by trout. I tried Ausable Uglies...nope, Black stoneflies, one trout, streamer one trout, Wooly Buggers, nope (I think these trout see A LOT of WB's).
Then I heard a slap...a rise, then another. Nothing in the air so I put the dry fly "Weapon" back on and darned if I didn't get a few on it. Then I saw an Isonychia in the air, they should have been all done a couple weeks ago. One floated into my run and gulp it was gone. So on went a Parachute Iso (Fran Betters version) and I took some more.
Then things cooled down which was good as I was whipped by then. The stream I fished is known as a river where you catch more over 12" then under and that was pretty much the case today.
I took a few pics but I have to say when alone I hate taking pictures. I can barely keep myself upright standing in a river to start with, add a wiggling, slippery trout and fumbling for a camera, things get sideways for me quick.

Hmmm...been trying to post the pics but found out my pics aren't pics at all but videos. I have them on Photobucket and trying to post here but everything keeps coming up invalid file.
