Eureka Timberline

I have a really light tent for backpacking. I'm looking for another tent to use for times when I might canoe/camp or hike in only a few miles for an overnight and don't mind carrying extra weight. It will replace my Moss tent which has served me well.

I'm looking at the Eureka Timberline 4 and Eureka Mountain Pass 3XT.

I think Justin has the Timberline and I'd be appreciative if he, or anyone, would share their experience with it. My biggest concern would be whether there is sufficient overhang at both ends to prevent rain intrusion from swirling winds in a storm.

The Timberline 4 does offer an optional vestibule which cold be added at both ends. That costs ~$85 for each one so the price would escalate significantly to $390.

The Mountain Pass 3XT, for $212, is smaller, but has a heavier coating on both fly and floor and is protected with a vestibule at both doors.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
