ok so ive been a member of this site for quite some time now and today i realized something about the MAP users who frequent the JKD section, a lot of the threads i see on here all pertain to the same topics, and ask the same questions, which leads to the same arguments over and over again
its the textbook definition of insanity
so let me simplify this for you once and for all, for anyone who is still curious as to what jkd is and isnt..... by now you may have realized the short number of posts ive made to this forum in comparison to the time i first registered, usually posts dealing with my own random thoughts and opinions, which i insist you take with a grain of salt since opinions are like that thing which sits on the toilet, everyone has one
but here's the real breakdown of it
while all of these non-jkd practitioners are on the internet searching for information and arguing about what jkd is and isnt, it seems the real jkd practitioners dont really give a hoot because we are too busy training and trying to move forward while everyone else is still stuck on the same stumbling block
turn those stumbling blocks into stepping stones
dont get caught up on the specifics of jkd, keep it simple, train hard and forget about all that ruckus and mumbo jumbo, because by arguing about it you are actually not practicing jkd at all, in fact we are doing the exact opposite of what bruce lee told us to do, we are becoming stale
bruce lee wanted us to train, to learn, to grow, to absorb what is useful and discard what is useless, and really he warned us not to get hung up on these silly little unimportant arguments which lead to absolutely nowhere
knowing is not enough, we must do, willing is not enough, we must apply
so quit arguing and bickering about the same crapola and get up, go train, do something more productive with your time, for THAT my friend is the true secret of jeet kune do..... self-improvement
thank you
