May 16,17,18 back packing Siamese ponds Insects?

My group is planning to do a 3 day backpacking trip up the east Sacandaga river branch into Siamese pond wilderness area this weekend 5/16-5/18/2014. Can anyone tell me how the bugs are? I have reports that the black flies are NOT out yet. We are prepared for rain and major crossings. Just a little concerned about the insects.
