Winter hike!

Hello all,



I am looking to plan a winter day hike in the high peaks area, and have a few questions. I have hiked in the high peaks during the summer but never the winter and was wondering if anyone had any pointers on where to start for a beginner. (I.E.) "easiest" peak to try in winter, clothing, special equipment needed... any help would be greatly appreciated!!
