Jackrabbit Trail question

I've been interested in "doing" the entire Jackrabbit Trail, but can't figure out how to do the missing gaps. The two gaps are between the Whiteface Inn end of the SL-LP part to LP, and Lake Clear to SL. Are there recommended routes? From Lake Clear, I guess I could follow the RR tracks to SL, then pick up the trail east of town, but how to get around LP? Follow the SOA trails to Whiteface Landing? I would like to do a "European Style" inn-to-inn trip, with the inns being hotel/motels in SL and SP. Any suggestions would be helpful.
