Love and a 45.

I was down to ye ole gym the other day, it was same stuff different day for the most part, except we sparred for fifteen minutes. For some reason I havent felt so hot in the gym for about a three month period of time, in facr Ive missed alot of class due to work and I wont get my next belt on time, Im drifting though. It occured to me that stepping at a forty five either forward or backward is a wonderful technique, I seem to catch a lot of guys walking into a left round house to the gut after I step to a rear 45 with my right leg(rear leg). Just wondering if those angles and techniques are working for anyone else?
