Few months ago a kickboxer under the Duke Roufus banner died after injuries suffered and the subsequent failures of after care.

No regulation:*The state regulates mixed martial arts, but not the similar sport of kickboxing, leaving promoters to oversee their own fights
No protective gear:*In some states, amateur kickboxers must wear protective headgear. Wisconsin has no such requirement.
Failures in the ring:*Experts say the referee, ringside doctor and cornerman should have intervened to assess Munson or stop the fight.
Dangerous weight cut:*Munson cut about 8 pounds to fight as a 135-pound bantamweight. Kickboxers weighed in the day of the bout, leaving little time to replenish what was lost in the weight cut. The state doesnt allow same-day weigh-in for mixed martial arts.
Missing footage:*Roufusport gave police two versions of the fight video. In the high-definition version, 32 seconds are missing right before Munson collapses. Police used that video in their report. An unedited second version shows cornerman slapping Munson, holding him by the face and neck and the doctor not paying attention.
Delayed care:*The ringside doctor initially told an ambulance crew not to administer oxygen. A manually-operated elevator was on a different floor, delaying transport for up to 5 minutes.
Higher care not pursued:*The ambulance crew waved off a better-trained Milwaukee Fire Department unit. Munson was taken to nearby Sinai hospital, rather than the regions Level One trauma center, Froedtert Hospital.
Conflicts:*Officials overseeing Munsons fight all have deep connections to the promoters at Roufusport, creating a conflict of interest. Experts said doctors and referees should not work fights where such links exist.

Now although not all fault should seem to fall completely on Roufusport, it was their event, their fighter, their organisation. But now a series of fighters and former coaches are coming out stating all the negativity in the gym.
Allegedly having the vets beat down the rookies for practice, placing intense pressure to win etc.
There's a lot of finger pointing going on, but hope the family finds peace and resolution.
