Snow in Newcomb?

I'm thinking of climbing Goodnow Mt. sometime in the next week. Does anyone know if there's snow in Newcomb yet. Wondering whether I'll need snowshoes, microspikes, neither, both? I've also heard that hunting is not allowed there. Can anyone confirm that? Should I wear the orange vest just in case?
