Anyone ever read and/or know where a copy of Bert's Crook Book by Bert Snyder could be found?
He was a former Game Protector in Madison County who published a book based mainly on the journals he kept during his decades of service. I was reading Hunting Central NY Whitetails & other Adventures by Robert J. Elinskas and that book had a chapter of excerpts from 'Crook Book' which intrigued and entertained me enough to want to read the entire book. Problem is I can't seem to locate it anywhere on my usual used book marketplaces around the internet. It seems that printing must have been very limited. I imagine most of what copies remain sit forgotten on the bookshelves of camps throughout the region.
Anyone read it that could give an opinion? Seems to be full of interesting anecdotes from what was truly a different era for the Game Wardens entrusted to enforce the game laws of central NY and the Adirondacks.
