We recently explored Indian Caverns and Tytoona Cave (PA). With the heat, it was time to go underground. Tytoona was particularly memorable because it is an accessible, wild cave that the public can explore. A creek flowed in the darkness. I have never explored a cave on my own before. Indian Caverns had many unique formations and will be closing to tours this year. We then went to Fort Roberdeau, a Revolutionary War era fort built to protect local lead mines and smelters. The guides were in period dress and very informative. Learning how people lived back then is always eye-opening. Life was very hard. A great place to visit for those who like history.
