Kayak Trolling Rod?

Going up to Brown Tract Pond Campground the 25th - 29th of August. I've done some research on kayak trolling but have never attempted it. I mostly do Salmon/Steelhead fishing in the rivers. Along with the shore bass and pike fishing. I plan on using the 3 way swivel rig i've read about for trolling. I can't find any info on what weight/length rod is best to use though. From what I read I'd be using about a 1oz sinker on one end of the swivel. Then probably some sorta diver. So I guess the best rod would be a Medium/Heavy or Heavy rod? Probably a 7' 6" or 8' 6"? Any info anyone can spare would be greatly appreciated. I plan on fishing Brown Tract and Eighth Lake.
