Not as cold as I had hoped for my initial winter trip but I am going to head out for a night or two this weekend to do a winter gear shakedown. May hit two spots if within range...
Any ideas? Short hikes in , John Pond, Tirrell Pond type, (actually don't want to do that hill on the way out)?? Hike in, set up, putz around, eat, sleep, get up, eat, back to car, go somewhere else..repeat
Like to hike/snowshoe to a lean to at water...not looking to go too far in as I've not back packed with a winter load in several years.
I can travel from the Cranberry Lake area but would prefer to avoid the high peaks...
