Early start

So with the debate on when the ice is going to leave our ponds I've been trying to think of some good ways to get an early start when it does go off. I've came up with what I think seems to be a good idea. You will be ready for ice out wether it's April 10th or March 10th. All you need to do is carry your boat/float tube into your favorite pond now, with the ice still solid you can go set up right over your favorite hole. If you want you can even cast out now. Doing this as soon as the ice melts your already on the pond and floating all set up to start fishing, not to mention your getting a good head start on everyone else. What do you guys think about this? Anybody else have any good ideas for a head start.
