I was wondering if you guys can recommend a good pair of snowshoe poles for the High Peaks. I did my share of High Peaks this year ( 3 season) and will try some this winter. I got a pair of MSR Denali USGI snowshoes with 8" tails from a Navy SEAL. Looking forward to the challenge.
Another question. Is an ice axe recommended? I carry microspikes but some of those slides are steep. Not sure if snowshoes and/or microspikes are enough. Thank you!
