From Route 9 in New Russia (near Split Rock Falls), I did a loop over these two mountains. They are really just bumps on the east side of Rocky Peak Ridge. There were no official trails to follow, but its open woods - so easy bushwhacking. First climbed Holcomb, and then continued up the ridge to peak 837m. This had best views of the day IMO. Next, went over to peak 771m on the ridge to the north. Climbed down this ridge to Deer mountain before dropping straight down to Coughlin Brook. There were small waterfalls, flumes and cascades along the way. Picked up segments of a herd path which eventually turned into an old road on the south side. At one point at the top of a slide, the road crosses to the north side of the creek and there is a guide rope there. I continued down the road a bit as it veered further away from the brook. The road is obviously maintained. Eventually I had to leave it and cut back over to avoid private dwellings. Nice day out before the rains. No black flies as of yet.
