Lake Trout

Hit one of my favorite lakes yesterday and caught 2 fat ones that were about 26 or 27 inches--didn't measure them and released quickly. Marked some good sized bait balls with larger marks above them. One of my fish came as I passed through the bait ball. Both fish caught in @30 feet of water. Water temp 55 degrees surface. Missed 3 other fish. Also caught a really nice smallie. All fish caught on a jig that I tie to imitate smelt. Basically white with a blue/purple back with plenty of flash on the sides. It was a miserable time on the lake with gusty wind and driving rain at times so I only fished 2 hours. Left the cell phone in the truck so no pictures. :-(
