Henderson lake surroundings and fish

Headed to henderson lake this weekend and looking for some tips on good day hikes in the area. Thinking about checking out Wallace and possibly heading up mcnaughton. Is there a herd path up macnaughton or do I need to break out the compass and bushwhack it? Also, anyone do any fishing on the lake. DEC website says there are brookies, but I read on a different website there are various pan fish and bass. Can anyone confirm?
