ive never used a GPS before. i have an understanding on how they work but i need someone to break it down for me a little further. i do know how to use a map and compass but im looking to update a little bit.
so here are a couple questions that i have:
if i see a lake in the middle of the woods on my map and i wana walk to it, will my GPS show that same lake? meaning can i just stare at my gps while i walk and it will show me on the screen that im walking closer and in the right direction of that lake?
i want to go into an area where terrrain orientation is very difficult with a map cause there are no reference points. will it be easier to navigate with GPS where exactly im at?
if im in an area that im unsure of and i go into google maps on my phone and zoom out to orient myself, can i do the same thing with a GPS?
depending on how much you spend, does a gps show you the same detail as a map?
