Sorry for any trouble, people. I don't mean to troll about, but wanting to put my uncertainties at ease here.
Currently, I have been reading other forums and reddits, and it seems that some people believe that the current practitoners of koryu bujutsu are studying a 'watered-down' version in comparison to the practitoners of old and the those practicing Historical European Martial Arts.
Now I am one of those people who like Koryu Bujutsu because of their lineages having stuck true since its origins, but I am also one of those wanting to bridge the connection between both Eastern and Western martial arts. It just annoys me when either side have to feel more superior to the other, especially when reading comments regarding the 'Knight v. Samurai' debacle and saying European swords are better to the point of calling the katana a 'shitana'.
So what I am asking is: should the watering down be a bother? And are there any ryu that still stick true since its origins?
I could ask if one can do both Koryu and HEMA, but it seems there are those who do and want to connect the two.
