Wind Resistant Base or Mid layer

Looking for advise for a mid layer or base layer that is also wind resistant. Currently I have the Arcteryx Gamma MX which is bombproof on windy days when exposed. However it is often too much while hiking in the woods. But on windy days I would still like wind resistance in a base or mid layer. I normnally use the Patagonia R1 and although it is a great insulation layer it s basically useless in the wind by itself. Can anyone provide recommendations for such a wind resistant midlayer garment. I did find the Craft windstopper base layer but it only has windstopper on the front. I don't really see windstopper too much unless your talking about big outer layers.
