50L pack & a bear barrel?

So I am looking at downsizing pack. Bear kegs are required/recommended in ADK.

Do folks:

1. Stuff these into pack and pack around it?
2. Hang on exterior?
3. Pack clothes inside of it so your PJ's smell like bacon?
4. Launch it with a trebuchet from trail head and than hike until you find it?
