Dix Mountain Wilderness camping advice.

My wife and I are planning a trip to the Dix/High Peaks area. My plans are to hike in from the St Huberts area, camp just outside the AMR boundary somewhere along the Gill Brook Trail on the way up to Nippletop. Does anyone know how the terrain is in that area and if I would be able to find a decent flat spot to set up? Also I know campfires are not allowed in the Eastern High Peaks, does that rule apply to the Dix Mountain Wilderness area?
