Made a quick trip yesterday morning that involved more driving/hiking than actual fishing time but such is life. Had 2 hits, one was this 18" blue spotted carp right before release:
The other was substantially larger and even though I was fishing with freshly sharpened hooks and thought I got a decent hookset it pulled out when I tried to pry it off the bottom of the pond. This pond has a somewhat uncommon (native I think) minnow that the big carp key on so I finally got around to making a pattern for it and apparently it works. I hear fishing has been slow lately in general, has anyone else been out?
