Your favorite roadside primitive campsites...

I love roadside primitive campsites. They are especially great on weeknights where you have a good chance of finding it empty. I like stretching out 3 and 4 day trips by leaving right from work at 4 and rolling in kind of late so that I can get a good night sleep and already be in the Adirondacks early the next morning, rather than leaving early and getting there with 1/3 to 1/2 your day gone already.

A few of my favorites are

* near the Boreas River between Minerva and Newcomb

* near the Boquet River just before crossing bridge on 73

* near the Sacandaga River on Route 8 between Wells and Bakers Mills

* between North Hudson and turnoff for Upper Works on Blue Ridge road

Anybody else have a few favorites off of highways you'd like to share?
