Adk Meadows

This weekend i was browsing through a coffee table book a friend had about Seneca Ray's photography and one thing that got my attention was all the photos that showed big expansive meadows in the Adirondacks. If course this was due to logging and farming, but it got me thinking.

Can anyone point out any public locations that have large grassy meadows? I'm not thinking of swampy beaver meadows, but high, hillside alpine meadows.
