DEC Issues Muddy Trail Advisory for Adirondack High Peaks

Full Press Release

May 10, 2017: New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) urges hikers to be cautious and postpone hikes on trails above 2,500 feet until high elevation trails have dried and hardened.

The Backcountry Information page for the High Peaks Region is still recommending that hikers carry snowshoes and microspikes above 3,500 feet but I assume that page will update shortly to align with the press release.
