She said that the policies emphasize mutual development of trade in the electronics and electrical industries between the two countries, today valued at 5,150 million US dollars annually.

“The Thai government is eager to expand trade volume between Thailand and Malaysia and encourages the private sectors of the two countries to fully leverage the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement which has reduced the tariffs between the two countries while the Mutual Recognition Agreements on Standards for Electrical and Electronic Equipment has eliminated technical barriers to trade.”

“The Thai government offers support for strategic partnerships in trade and investment activities that could be a venue for Thai and Malaysian business people to meet and network in the form of trade fairs and trade missions.

One such trade fair is NEPCON Thailand 2017. It presents a unique platform for international technology providers to jointly drive growth in the regions electronics industry, whose potential could attract global electronics manufactures for further expansion or investment.
The trade show will offer Malaysian firms the opportunity to participate and showcase innovative technologies for the electronics manufacturers, meet with potential buyers and set up a network where Malaysian and Thai manufactures can tap into opportunities for future orders.
