Why Do You Need a Seagate NAS HDD?
When it comes to preserving that precious moment, that snapshot of history, or that photograph you crafted based on years of experience, nothing less than the best will do and there is no better storage that is specifically designed for network-attached storage (NAS) system than Seagate NAS HDD.
Ng Wei Lee, President, PFSKL
As the president of the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Photography Association, Ng Wei Lee has dealt with all kinds of photographers and has heard all kinds of problems and solutions. A 15-year veteran in the association, Ng is also no stranger to the trials and tribulations of a photographer.
A safe, reliable, and personal storage that can be accessed from anywhere in the world is a dream of all photographers. What they want is a safe place to store all their hard work, have it reliably accessible whenever they need it, and have full control over the management of the media, said Ng.
He said that back in the days, film photographers have full control over their photos, they can limit to those whom they want to show the photos to and how many copies they can print. Photographers had exclusive rights to their work at the expense of portability, and ease of sharing. They had to bring albums full of pictures or rolls of negatives to show off their work.
However in the digital age, portability and sharing photos are no longer a problem. Using cloud services, members can share their work easily and instantaneously over the Internet. But this too comes with its own problems. With the ease of sharing comes rights and management problems, added Ng.
He explains that by using cloud storage and social media, photographers lose control over their work. Some services take the owners rights away, while others do not store the pictures in its full resolution.
The solution, according to Ng, is to use a NAS system with Seagate NAS HDD. It is the solution that is often recommended to me and the solution I have recommended to others as well.
Personally, I have used an ASUSTOR dual-bay NAS with Seagate NAS HDD. It does everything that a photographer needs. It is safe, reliable, and you own everything that is in it. You have full control. Theres no need to worry about its safety, because it is at home, I can connect to it at any time from anywhere there is an internet access, and all the photos are mine to manage, however I want them, said Ng.
