Hi everyone!
It's been a long time since I posted here! We are planning an extended family vacation next summer, looking for a place that some folks can fish, others can sit around and read by the lake, maybe swim a little, and all of us can paddle. We also want to be close-ish to the Saranac six, and the high peaks so some of us can sneak off and do some day hikes and more paddling.
While searching for lodging, Loon Lake has come up. I have never been there before. Has anyone here every stayed there? Can you swim there? Are the motorboats well behaved, or bothersome to canoeists and kayakers?
