Its so big everything has to be small. Let me try to explain. The houses are small, lots of high rises with small apartments. Very crowded. Could I live there? Maybe, if I had to.
I don't mean to bash Tokyo, its safe for a big city, walking the streets at night is no problem, people tend to be friendly which is unusual in so large a city.
So its a mixed bag. I recommend it for a visit. Its a pleasant experience overall. Its just that it seems like living there would get hectic.
