Easy Hiking

Hi All , new to the site but I do frequent the foothills region around Little Falls area in Herkimer . Question , I'm coming from NJ and looking to do a easy educational hike in that vicinity with a group of Boy Scouts ages 11-16 . 3-5 miles something we can complete in a day , have some lunch on a mountain top , have a memorable experience and use my hunting camp as a base camp . Any suggestion would be appreciated .
