Is it too late in the season for fishing

Hello All,



I will be in the Fulton County area next weekend and I was going to take the kids fishing on some of the lakes. “Canada Lake and Caroga lake”



My question is how is fishing this time of year? I had a friend who said don’t waste my time it is too late in the season.
